indie games galore!

On 21st March we ran an Indie Showcase in collaboration with Debug Magazine, and it was flippin’ fantastic!

For those unaware, Debug is a publication focused exclusively on indie games. Created by a team with decades of experience in journalism, Debug is produced quarterly and exists to connect independent game developers and those who enjoy the unique gaming experiences that only indie can provide.

The Indie Showcase is an opportunity for indie developers to show off their new games, and for members of the public (and gaming industry( to play them, talk to the developers and get a better insight into the indie gaming scene. Both Debug and Barcadia want to expand the reach of these games, and provide an exciting space for Norwich folks to come and see what’s on offer!

It probably comes no surprise to you that Indie games are incredible. These are once titles that would have flooded the Public Domain and Shareware realms of gaming, but today they’re often able to compete (and even outclass) AAA titles, with huge budgets. How do they do this? Well, it’s usually through tenacity and passion. A single, or small developer team, can pour their hearts into a game that means the world to them, and the result is usually pretty damn incredible.

Talking of incredible, these are the games demonstrated at our showcase;

Tchia (Awaceb)

A Tropical Open-World adventure.

Climb, glide, swim, and sail your boat around a beautiful archipelago in this physics-driven sandbox.

Use Tchia's Soul Jumping ability to take control of any animal or object, and Jam on your fully playable Ukulele.

A game inspired by New Caledonia.

Beserk Boy (BeserkBoy Games)

is a vibrant, retro-inspired 2D action platformer that lets you… GO BERSERK! Change into different forms and use the power of Lightning, Fire, Earth, Air, and Ice as you race through stylish stages in a heroic battle to save the planet from the evil Dr. Genos!

DDI Rally (Dangerous Derk Interactive)

DDI Rally Championship is an electrifying arcade video game that puts you behind the wheel of powerful rally cars, ready to conquer the most challenging off-road tracks across the globe. Strap in and get ready to experience the thrill of high-speed racing, as you navigate through dynamic terrains, including rugged mountains, dense forests, and treacherous deserts.

Crisis Island (Webster Entertainment)
